The ‘black box’ paper recycling collection service is changing to a fortnightly collection schedule from the end of this month (June).
In the next week or so, residents will receive letters from the Council notifying them of changes to their paper collection schedule. From Monday 29 June onwards, paper will then be collected every other week instead of weekly as it is currently. New collection calendars (also available on the Council website) are also being sent out.
A very small number of households will also see their collection days changed, but they will be notified of this seperately by post.
The changes will save half a million pounds per year, but are also being driven by the substantially reduced amount of paper being collected these days, compared to when the service was introduced around fifteen years ago.
